We spent a week at Grand Rivers. Today we are heading for the Barkley canal which will take us into Kentucky lake which will take us to the Tennessee river. We will travel up river as far as Chattanooga to visit Richards cousins, a 250 mile side trip.

We are hoping this side trip to the east will slow our progress to the south and bring us cooler weather. Maybe see some fall colors 🙂

In the canal we met the Mississippi River Cruise.

We entered this cove to stop for lunch and a swim. It’s 85 degrees today. So many beautiful places to stop on this lake.

Many rock formations along this section. Looks like a cave on the far right.

We are still seeing lots of tows but we have more room to pass on the lake.

Looks like a good place to stop for the night.

Time for a swim before dinner.

One more day and we will have a full moon. Moonbeams kissing the bay.

  1. Don’t forget —– you have a cousin on the Mann side that works in Chattanooga. Bill King, to be exact. Would love for you to introduce him to Joey. I think they would like one another. Email me if you’d like his phone numbers or email address. Enjoying you blog!
